Four Mystic Rituals To Balance Hormones In Your Luteal Phase
Peace and blessings my mystic loves!
This week started out rough for me. The energy in me and around me felt off. I experienced a deep disconnect from my normal state of graceful flow and ease, and there was a looming sense of lethargy which caused my body to ache. I felt moody and sad one minute, but then full of gratitude and joy the next. Then it hit me. This could only mean one thing - I have officially entered the Luteal phase of my menstrual cycle. Being the mystic spiritual goddess that I am, I’ve learned how to alchemize cycle syncing with spiritual practices and rituals for each phase of the menstrual cycle, however, I find my luteal phase rituals most importantly because of the intensity of the hormonal imbalance in this particular phase of the menstrual cycle.
What Is The Luteal Phase?
For those of you goddess and queens who may not know, the Luteal phase of the menstrual cycle, commonly referred to as the inner autumn, occurs right after ovulation but before menstruation begins. During the Luteal phase, our bodies are preparing the uterus for pregnancy by thickening your uterine lining, which requires us to produce a high level of progesterone and estrogen. This is why right before menstruation, most women feel moody, irritable, and depressed.
If you’re anything like me, the increased hormones brought on by the Luteal phase of the menstrual cycle makes you feel quite “crazy”; for lack better term. Cycle after cycle, the one emotion that persists for me in my Luteal phase is the feeling of self-doubt. It’s almost like my hormones launch a direct attack on my solar plexus chakra and my sense of self-worth takes a huge dip. For eight to ten days out of the month when I’m in the Luteal phase, my vibration is extremely low which is something I just can not allow myself to experience for prolonged periods of time.
These rituals and spiritual practices I perform for my Luteal phase have worked to keep me in high spirits and fight of negativity, so I of course have to share them with my all mystic loves!
Alchemize Your Luteal Phase With These Rituals
Yoni Steam
Yoni steams are already a part of my spiritual hygiene practice, but doing a Yoni steam during the Luteal phase is an absolute must for me! It helps calm and sooth my womb while she does all this producing progesterone and estrogen to thicken the uterine lining. I like to perform my yoni steam ritual three days before my menstruation is set to begin. The herbs and oils I use during my Luteal phase are different than the ones I use during the other phases of my cycle. Why? During the Luteal phase our vaginas produce more discharge which can make our lady parts more susceptible to infections than normal. My herbal mix of calendula and rose along with a few drops of coconut oil and lavender I use in my Yoni steam helps to purify and cleanse the vaginal canal naturally while balancing my PH.
Sound Bath
As I mentioned earlier, the Luteal phase brings my mood and energy to the pits of hell and my sound baths help to carry me back into a high vibrational state. Every morning of my Luteal phase, I’ll start my day with a good sonic cleanse to help shake negativity and feelings of confusion, discontent, and anxiety brought on by this phase of the menstrual cycle. The sound bowl I’ll choose usually correlated with the energy I am trying to counteract. For example, when I am feeling moody and annoyed, I used my root chakra sound bowl to help me feel more grounded in positive emotions. When I am feeling doubtful and self-critical, my heart chakra sound bowl brings me back to a state of self-love and acceptance.
Once I complete my sound bath, I’ll finish this ritual by placing my hand on my womb to make sure the vibrational energy is transferred directly to the source of my emotions and feelings. I live alone so this is the best way for me to carry out this energy transfer, but if you live with a partner or someone you trust spiritual, ask them to play your sound bowl atop or directly above your womb space.
Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini Yoga is my absolute favorite mystic spiritual practice I perform during my Luteal phase. I don’t have the energy or stamina to lift weights at the gym during this time of the month, and pilates is too strenuous for my body as well. Kundalini Yoga helps me stay active during this time of the month, connect to my womb space, and balance the increase of hormonal energy brought on by this phase of the menstrual cycle. This is form of yoga that involves chanting, singing, breathing exercises, and repetitive poses. Its purpose is to activate your Kundalini energy, or “shakti”, a spiritual energy that's said to be located at the base of your spine.
While performing Kundalini Yoga, I focus on hip opening movements, like tree, frog, and archer poses. I make sure to bring all of my attention to my womb by centering my focus on what I can feel happening inside this sacred area of my body and pulling the energy from my womb rather, than my stomach, for the chants and breath work.
Sun Meditation
Ok my mystic loves, this Luteal phase ritual might not be something some of you are willing to engage in, but I highly recommend you try it before writing it off complete. Put your Yoni in the sun ladies! Post sound bath and Kundalini Yoga practice, I find a safe space in my house or on my balcony where I can spread my legs and let the sun meet my Yoni. It feels amazing and gives my womb the energetic recharge it needs during the Luteal phase.
The Luteal phase is called the body’s inner autumn. What do we want to do in autumn? Be cozy! We wrap ourselves up in blankets, sit by the window and watch the leaves fall. Letting the sun penetrate your Yoni will warm her right up! The sun offers so many spiritual benefits that our Yonis’ need during the Luteal phase. It’s a biggest, brightest start in the sky that energetically represents the spiritual father of this realm. The womb carries mother energy, and during the Luteal phase the womb is preparing for pregnancy. This is the perfect time to let the sun’s energy penetrate your Yoni.
Conclusion
There you have it my mystic loves! These are the four mystic spiritual practices and rituals I perform during the Luteal phase of my menstrual cycle to keep my mental and spiritual energy in a high vibrational state. In addition to Yoni steams, sound bath cleansing, Kundalini Yoga, sun meditation I also switch to a high protein and fiber vegan diet during my Luteal phase. It’s important to nourish the inside of my body as well as the outside while my womb is undergoing the process of preparing for pregnancy, but I’ll save this information for another article. For now, try some or all of these spiritual practices and rituals for the Luteal phase for yourselves and let me know in the comments if you want me to share my full mystic rituals guide for alchemized cycle synching.
