If you know a little bit about the Universal Laws of Attraction, you’re familiar with the concept that all matter is made up of vibrations, therefore all thoughts are made up of vibrations.

If you’re not familiar with this theory, it basically explains how the thoughts we put into the universe help shape our reality. For a woman, mastering the power of positive thinking can propel her into the reality she desires. There are many different manifestation techniques that put this theory into practice, but my favorite is using affirmations to take ownership of my future.

How Positive Affirmations Work

Whether you realize it or not, you are very likely using affirmations every day – but are they positive ones? If you find yourself worrying or stressing over the certain thoughts or circumstances in your life, whether it be your health and fitness, parenting issues, or finances - the manifestation of those thoughts are all a direct result of negative thoughts. But, there is a remedy for this. Creating positive affirmations and reciting them daily will eventually reprogram your mind to replace the negative thoughts and mental images you've become accustomed to with positive and uplifting ones, henceforth creating a more positive reality.

Many women find affirmations to be a powerful tool in changing thought patterns, beliefs, and behaviors.

Writing affirmations can help you visualize the outcome you want to manifest in your life. They flush out negativity and/or self doubt clouding your mind by allowing you to force-feed yourself positive vibrations and center your focus on the success and happiness you desire.

If you have a specific goal in mind, like writing a novel, getting a promotion, or adapting a healthy lifestyle, you can create an affirmation or a set of affirmations that support your goals. For example, if your desire is to improve upon your attitude and mental health, create affirmations that reflect your highest version of self and aligned with how that version of you would think and carry herself.

Examples of Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations can be general statements to help support your mental health and keep you grounded, or they can be very specific to the successes you envision achieving in the future.

“I have the power to create the life I desire.”

“I will find joy and express gratitude for the small things that happen today.”

“I feel loved, supported, and cared for.”

“I trust my intuition to bring me closer to my dreams.”

“I am at peace with all that I have experienced.”

These are all examples of positive affirmations. Saying statements like these or ones that sound similar will have a profound effect on the outcome of your day because they allow good vibrations to enter your atmosphere and shift the negative thoughts that you’ve become programmed to believe out of you aura.

How To Write Affirmations

The affirmations you write should be a reflection of the reality you want to create. The key to effective affirmation writing is to think of a thought or feeling that you want to change or goals you wish to accomplish, then write an affirmation based on that.

When writing your affirmations, try to create phrases that are definitive and aligned with your desires.

Here are some general guidelines and tips that you can use to write your positive affirmations.

  1. Begin your affirmations with the word, “I am.” These are two very powerful words because they allow you to summon the power of the positive vibrations into your life.

  2. Write your affirmations in the present tense.

  3. Turn any negative thoughts into positive mantras.

  4. Get straight to the point. Use as little words as possible when writing your affirmations.

  5. Be as specific as you can.

  6. Try to include an actionable word (i.e. growing, loving, moving, seeing, changing, etc.)

  7. Be honest and vulnerable. Write affirmation that are meaningful and evoke powerful mental visuals.

Some women prefer to use affirmations they find online or in books rather than write their own from scratch. There’s nothing wrong with doing it this way. If you choose to go this route rather than create your own affirmations, you can customize them using the tips above so the affirmations are tailored to you and your goals.

How To Use Your Affirmations Properly

This is where the magic starts to happen! It is extremely important to say affirmations as often as possible, every day if possible, and make them a part of your daily routine in order to yield the best results. It’s best practice to designate a specific time everyday where you can dedicate time to reciting your affirmations out loud. Studies have shown that mornings are typically the best time to repeat your affirmations as it helps you start your day in a positive way. Reciting your affirmations before you go to bed can have a positive effect on your sleep as you’ll be able to drift off into slumber with positive vibrations flowing through your psyche. You can even recite your affirmations morning and night for extra effectiveness in reprogramming your mind and mastering the power of positive thinking.

Choose a time when you’re not in a rush or add time to recite affirmations into your daily schedule, and try your best to stay committed to it.

You are free to a adapt any format that works for you in order to create a consistent flow for repeating your affirmations, however, these are a few tips that can help you get used to the rhythm of reciting your positive affirmations every day.

  1. Stand in front of a mirror with good posture and a relaxed demeanor.

  2. Try smiling! This will immediately lighten your mood and put you in a good headspace.

  3. Take four deep breaths to help center your energy before you get started.

  4. Use your mirror to look into your eyes and speak your affirmation aloud slowly, clearly, and with conviction.

  5. Repeat your affirmation as many times as you need to for you to believe it.

Remember, if an affirmation does not immediately feel natural or helpful, you can try playing around with the wording to make it more natural to your speech and cadence. The more natural each statement feels to you, the more power it will have.

Reprogramming your mind with affirmations takes time, but consistency is the key to mastering the power of positive thinking.
